Saly Rashed
I came to this country at the age of 13 and since then Australia has been my home. I completed by Bachelor of Pharmacy with honours at Monash University in 2000 and was a registered pharmacist in 2005. Commenced my career in pharmacy at a community pharmacy in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne were we were very focused on a number of professional services. Soon after I became the pharmacist in charge and continued working there for almost 10 years. In 2008 my passion for geriatric medicine has grown and decided to complete my accreditation and become an accredited pharmacist. I have since completed a large number of RMMRs in residential aged care facilities and HMRs in patients' homes. I still work closely with a number of GPs who regularly refer their patients to me for a comprehensive HMR. In 2014, I decided to mover from community pharmacy and transition to hospital pharmacy. I worked at Northern Health ED department for 12 months and then transitioned to Eastern Health late 2015. I have thoroughly enjoyed clinical pharmacy services in a number of areas; including, general medicine, geriatric medicine, palliative care, cardiology/respiratory and quality use of medicine, medication safety. I completed by Grad Cert in pharmacy practice in 2018 and I am about to complete my masters in clinical pharmacy mid 2023.
